Special edition, from a special occasion.
This opening version of the Liberace Piano Ring replica was released in Paris in 2017, at the opening of Medusa: Bijoux et Taboo (Jewelry and Taboo), the jewelry exhibit featuring the Liberace Jewels, at the Paris Museum of Modern art. Madame Line Renaud, a star of Paris and Las Vegas who was a dear friend of Liberace, was the Honorary Chairwoman who opened the exhibit.
The original ring is held in the Liberace Museum Collection. It was given to Liberace by Baron Hilton. No fewer than a dozen jewelers claim to have made it, but it bears no jeweler's signature.
Unlike the original replica piano ring offered in the Liberace Museum Store prior to 2010, this version has an opening lid, and strings inside. Only 400 were made, most of which have been sold. They were first offered in Paris, then Las Vegas. Available in whole sizes (US) 6-13, each certificate is numbered and the name of the original owner is recorded in the records of the Liberace Foundation.
